Madelein's Online Marketing Journey

I imagine my love for marketing—or at least the initial spark—kicked off in primary school when I won a prize for designing a poster for a school bazaar. Fast forward a bit, and I found myself earning a Public Relations Management Diploma, learning the basics of marketing. But it took years for that spark to catch fire.

Life pulled me in different directions first. I’ve always been fascinated by why people do what they do, so studying psychology and specializing in Work Psychology during my Honours year felt like a natural fit. I truly believe everyone should do work that matches their design—their skills, values, interests, and passions. It’s not just about happiness; it’s about thriving and being productive. That idea has stuck with me since the start of my work journey. To dig deeper, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, qualifying me to teach high school Life Orientation, which included career guidance. I spent two months as a student teacher, helping students explore their paths. It was rewarding, but I quickly realized my real passion wasn’t teaching kids—it was helping adults find work they love.

Later on in my career, I joined an EdTech startup’s HR team, where I saw tech transform education. With a nudge from my Head of HR, I earned a Google Data Analytics Certification, feeding my natural curiosity and sharpening my ability to make sense of data.

Then, in mid-2019, I stumbled into online business and marketing. It was exciting—I saw huge potential and alignment with who I am—but it was also confusing. Terms like funnels, lead magnets, and automation? They didn’t make any sense at first. I was hooked yet overwhelmed.

Ryan Sletcher, a fellow South African and my first online business mentor, introduced me to Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula but also brought his own unique take on funnels and online business. Ryan’s coaching gave me a foothold, and I knew I wanted to help others climb out of that confusion too. Since then, I’ve learned from online business and marketing experts like Philip Borrowman (co-founder of LeadCreator AI), Mike Filsaime (co-founder of GrooveCM), Aaron Fletcher ((his training finally showed me how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together, and I earned his Growthworks Marketing Consultants certification along the way), Paul Murphy, and Derral Eves—both YouTube experts with their own unique perspectives and methods.

Each coach and mentor added a piece to the puzzle, helping me craft a no-nonsense, affordable way for coaches, mentors, and other service-based entrepreneurs to build their businesses. I’ve worked with clients—like a transformation life coach—to set up an efficient high-ticket lead generation system that didn’t require her to become a marketing expert or drain her wallet on expensive ad campaigns.

My focus is now on helping you build an automated high-ticket client attraction system, leaning on organic traffic like YouTube. My mission is simple: you shouldn’t need to be a marketing guru, a tech wizard, or spend a fortune on ads to grow a business you love. I blend my passion for people doing work that fits them with everything I’ve learned about online marketing. The result? A clear path to more impact, reach, and revenue—plus time to do what you enjoy most.
